Why We Work (and how to be better at it) | Bob Mittelsdorf

Organisms work to survive. Higher animals work in groups, evolving sophisticated social arrangements. Organisations do business to create value. Consider the value to be created against the cost of creating it (ROI), and when the resources will be used and when we realise the value. Identify risks associated with the work, both at the beginning of a job and continually review as the job progresses. A team with the right skills, knowledge and experience is critical. Too often people are assigned because they are ‘available’.
